Court of Appeal’s Justice Musa Ssekaana, who also serves as a member of the Performance Management and Awards Committee, today officially closed a two-day training on the Performance Enhancement Tool for 35 Judges at the Supreme Court Conference Hall.
The training aimed to equip judicial officers with hands-on skills and knowledge regarding the Judiciary’s new 360-degree performance appraisal system.
In his closing remarks, Justice Ssekaana commended the participants for their enthusiastic engagement in embracing technology. He noted that the training signifies the dawn of a new era in judicial performance management.

Justice Ssekaana urged the Judges to apply their acquired knowledge effectively and to champion a culture of accountability, efficiency, and professional growth within the Judiciary.
He emphasized that by incorporating multiple perspectives, the new appraisal model ensures that performance assessments are balanced, transparent, and accurately reflect judicial officers' contributions to justice delivery.
Justice Ssekaana further encouraged the participants to fully integrate the system into their daily judicial functions, stressing that its success hinges on their collective commitment to adopting and utilizing it effectively. He urged them to perceive the system not as a tool for scrutiny but as an enabler of growth, efficiency, and judicial excellence.
Additionally, the Judge extended special appreciation to the Judiciary’s leadership for their visionary approach in leveraging technology for performance enhancement. He also acknowledged the trainers, facilitators, and technical team for their diligent service throughout the training.
