Justice Musa Ssekaana, presided over the Wakiso Chief Magistrates Court Open Day.
Justice Ssekaana, who is representing the Principal Judge, was received by the Judiciary Public Relations Officer, HW James Ereemye Jumire Mawanda. The PRO is representing the Chief Registrar; present; the Chief Magistrate, HW Kaggwa John Francis, other Judicial Officers under the magisterial area as well as representatives from different justice institutions.
Justice Ssekaana inspected the guard of honour mounted by the Uganda Police Force and later planted a tree on the court's grounds to commemorate the Day. The Open Day is being held under the theme "A People-Centered Approach to Justice."
He went on to tour stalls set up by different stakeholders.
Deputy Registrar Alternative Dispute Resolution, HW Zulaika Nanteza, who is the moderator for three day, and representatives from other Justice Law and Order Sectors, sensitized the public on the different innovations put in place to improve the administration of justice.
Mr. Nantalaga Amir Assistant RDC Wakiso, SSP Katuramu Robert DPC Wakiso and Mr Ssemujju Ysufu LC1 Mpunga as well as members of the public are in attendance.
After the question and answer session, Justice Ssekaana addressed the participants where he highlighted that, “You should first go for mediation before proceeding to court and if a matter is before any office for mediation, let that office resolve it and if not satisfied proceed to court.”
"Respect court orders, don't use other offices to interfere with court processes.
