The meeting seeks to deepen understanding of digital harms, explore protective measures against online abuse, and strengthen coordinated responses among state institutions. It also aims to advance digital rights, particularly for women, journalists, activists, and other at-risk groups who are increasingly vulnerable to online harassment, misinformation, cyberbullying, and privacy violations.

The participation of Ugandan judicial officers highlights the Judiciary’s commitment to staying responsive to emerging technological challenges and ensuring that legal and regulatory frameworks effectively safeguard constitutional rights in the digital space.
