The African Chief Justices' Summit on Alternative Dispute Resolution, a two-days conference, gathered participants from various African countries to discuss ways to advocate for the use of Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanisms in the delivery of justice.
The Summit was held at Mestil Hotel and Residences under the theme "Re engineering the Administration of Justice on the African Continent."

Other topics discussed included; ADR in Public Policy and Environmental Disputes, Enabling access to justice for sustainable development in Africa, Managing Public Policy and Environmental Disputes through ADR: Opportunities and Challenges, and Strategic ADR intervention areas for African Judiciaries.
The Chief Justice of Uganda, Justice Alfonse Chigamey Owiny - Dollo, also discussed a topic on the Establishment of the Africa Chief Justices' ADR Forum- in the Chief Justices' Meeting.
"I urge you to run ADR with the formal Justice system. Appropriate policies should be put in place to regulate the practice. Parliament is committed to play their role to enhance ADR. They will continue supporting the ADR projects with funds to promote it," Rt Hon. Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa said presiding over the closing ceremony. The day was crowned with a Cultural Dinner.
